viastore joins the OPC Foundation
Strengthening the interoperability and security of smart storage solutions
The Stuttgart-based intralogistics specialist viastore has joined the OPC Foundation. This organization stands behind the open standard OPC UA (Unified Architecture), which is considered the backbone of industrial communication and a central component of Industry 4.0.
Joining the OPC Foundation gives viastore access to official reference implementations and gives the intralogistics specialists access to extensive expertise. This will significantly improve the development and security of its own products - especially the viavision visualization software. By using the OPC UA standard, which has been tested by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), viastore is relying on a globally recognized communication standard that ensures greater interoperability and an increased level of security in automated warehouse solutions.
“As a member of the OPC Foundation, we are building on proven technology and the expertise of a global community instead of developing our own protocols,” says Dominik Carstädt, Product Owner viavision at viastore. “Our customers benefit from a higher level of security as well as more efficient and future-proof solutions for their automated warehouse systems.”
With this strategic decision, viastore once again demonstrates its focus on innovation and providing first-class intralogistics solutions that meet the highest standards.
