Pilsen, the birthplace of Pilsner beer
Sense of orientation is an advantage
Beer lovers literally get their fill of beer in Pilsen – the city is the birthplace of Pilsner beer. But if you've had too much of it, you should be careful when descending the "Pilsen historical underworld" afterwards: numerous rooms and corridors, cellars and fountains form a 13-kilometre-long underground labyrinth under the entire Old Town.
For recreation and relaxation, the inhabitants and visitors of Pilsen have numerous parks and gardens at their disposal, including the 42-hectare Borský Park, which was created in 1914 on the site of a former military training area. Pilsen lies at the confluence of four rivers and quickly developed into a commercial center after its foundation in 1295.
