viastore receives order for new logistics center from NETZSCH Pumps & Systems
Manufacturing and final assembly efficiently combined
viastore has received an order from NETZSCH Pumpen & Systeme GmbH: The Stuttgart-based intralogistics specialist is building a completely new logistics center in Waldkraiburg, Upper Bavaria, for the world market leader in rotary displacement pumps. The order is worth around four million euros and commissioning is scheduled for June 2022.
The heart of the automated logistics system will be a high-bay warehouse in silo design, which will be supplied by two viapal storage and retrieval machines (SRMs). Directly adjacent to this will be a two-aisle automated small parts warehouse with two viaspeed stacker cranes (AS/RS). In addition, viastore will supply the appropriate conveyor technology, install picking stations and goods receiving sections, and implement a software-controlled storage location management system via the viadat 9.1 warehouse management system (WMS). Instead of a conventional sprinkler system, the logistics center will be equipped with an oxygen reduction fire protection system that minimizes the risk of fire.
At the new site, which is located in the immediate vicinity of NETZSCH's headquarters, the pump manufacturer intends to centralize parts manufacturing, the storage of purchased parts as well as final assembly and shipping. Until now, production and assembly were located in different plants, which required a high logistical effort for internal plant traffic. With the future logistics center, NETZSCH is responding to the increasing demands of its customers and will benefit from significantly more efficient processes and additional capacity for further growth.
