Luminaire manufacturer Disano relies on viastore for the modernization of its automated warehouse
Higher performance and availability for logistics in Spain
Disano, Italian manufacturer of lighting elements and systems, has commissioned the intralogistics expert viastore to modernize the automated warehouse at its Spanish plant Roda de Barà near Barcelona. In the warehouse, which was built by viastore 20 years ago, a total of 6,360 pallets accommodate not only raw materials but also finished parts.
The order comprises a complete retrofit of three viapal storage and retrieval machines as well as the replacement of the control cabinets, frequency converters and peripheral equipment. In addition, the Profinet bus system and the control systems of the S/R machines will be upgraded. Disano chose viastore as its service provider because the general contractor has been a reliable and competent partner since the automated warehouse was built two decades ago. This is also confirmed in the new project: the luminaire manufacturer's production will not be restricted by the modernization measures as they will be carried out in a production-free week in December 2021.
Through the retrofit, Disano increases the performance of its plant, ensures its availability in the long term, benefits from a reliable supply of spare parts, and thus extends its useful life at the same time.
